Akridge, Western Development Corporation, and Orr Partners have redeveloped 2121 First Street, SW into RiverPoint. Located at the site of the former U.S. Coast Guard headquarters at Buzzard Point, RiverPoint delivers 70,000 square feet of restaurant and commercial space as well as 480 apartments and waterfront activities with new piers, restaurants, and the continuation of the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. D.C. Central Kitchen is headquartered in the first floor of the building and Greg Casten opened his newest restaurant, The Point DC on the waterfront. The mixed-use project has reinvigorated the neighborhood, connecting the area with the Audi Field, home of DC United, as well as other developments along the Capitol Riverfront, including The Wharf and the Yards. RiverPoint is the latest waterfront community to deliver in Washington, DC.
