1627 K Street, NW was the first property developed by Akridge. Despite the unusual size and shape of the site, which discouraged other developers, its prime location on Washington's most important business thoroughfare contributed significantly to the project's financial success and established Akridge as a credible and insightful developer in DC's competitive market. When the building reached its thirteenth year, extensive lobby and elevator cab renovations were completed, further enhancing the building's image and work environment.

1627 K Street was acquired by UBS in 1992.
