624 Ninth Street, NW, served as the YWCA's downtown Washington location. The organization selected Akridge to develop this facility in 1979. The project approach was innovative from the start and included the creation of marketable office space on the top four floors of the 99,700-square-foot building, above the swimming pool, gym, auditorium, and YWCA offices.
